Custom Made for Harry West in 1976. Made by Jeff Harrison and Rolfe Gerhardt to commemmorate the bi-centennial of the signing of the Declaration of Independence July 4, 1776.
This has to be some of the most beautiful Maple wood I have ever seen on a mandolin back & sides. A very nice job done by Jeff and Rolfe on this Mandolin.
It has great sound and tonal response and the finish work is beyond exceptional.
Harry was a very patriotic person and LOVED The U S A. He wanted this mandolin to be somewhat of a patriotic piece with stars inlay on the fingerboard and the Bald Eagle with shield and arrows on the headstock. Green is Harry’s favorite color, so the mandolin features a translucent green over the highly figured maple back and sides.
