This Gibson F-4, serial #5205 was manufactured in approximately 1939 and is in very good condition. There is some small play wear & only one small scratch on the left side of fingerboard. Tuners have been replaced & has a diamond in the headstock with Gibson written in script. Frets are good, tone & playability is great. Back is beautiful wood and has some small round dots in a couple of places. According to Harry West’s notes, this one is known to be one of Norman Blake’s Mandolins. Unlike the prices you see from Antique Road show or George Gruhn’s F-4 mandolins, we are only pricing it at $5,700. The mandolin comes with the original hard shell case with Gibson written on it. It is worth more and the serious mandolin player is welcome to look it over and play it.
